Ear acupuncture is a type of acupuncture that involves inserting needles into specific points on the ear.
It is said to be like an ‘upside down foetus’, with the spine around the side of the ear, the brain( head) being the lobe and the organs in the middle. It works on the same principle as reflexology in the foot, in that each point is related to an organ and can help the whole body through using points in the ear.
What can it treat?
This type of treatment is most commonly used for addictions, like smoking or drug addictions.
In alternative medicine, ear acupuncture is typically used for a variety of health conditions. It is normally used in conjunction with body acupuncture and often seeds are left in the points so that clients can continue to stimulate the points whilst away from the clinic and gain the best possible results.
What does it do?
It is a non invasive and calming treatment. It can be used in a group or individually. It relaxes the body and mind and helps to restore the body's equilibrium.
